Connect your card platform
Connect Float with an API token, or Ramp by signing in, so Matched can read your card charges.
Matched reads card charges from your card platform. It only reads. It never moves money or changes anything in your card platform.
Which card platforms work
- Float: works today.
- Ramp: sign in to Ramp from setup. If setup says “Ramp is coming soon”, it isn't open yet.
- Brex: not available yet.
- A bank card or Amex: see Connect your bank or Amex, or upload a statement once a month.
Connect Float
- In setup, at Connect your cards, pick Float.
- In Float, open Settings, then Developer. You need to be a Float admin.
- Create an API token with read access to card transactions, custom fields and receipts. To bring in Float bills too, also give it read access to bills.
- Paste it into Float API token and select Connect Float.
Matched tests the token, stores it encrypted, and never shows it again.
Float bills
If you pay vendors with Float Bill Pay, Matched also reads your bills once someone has approved them in Float (waiting to be paid, or paid). Drafts and bills still waiting for approval are skipped. Each bill shows on Charges as a Bill, with the payee, the invoice number, and “Approved, not paid yet” or “Paid”.
- Type Job 123 in the bill's memo, or in a line's description, and Matched recommends Jobber job 123. Lines naming different jobs are suggested as a split, one part per line.
- A bill with no job written on it waits for you to pick one. Matched doesn't guess from clock-ins, since the invoice date isn't the day the work was done.
- When it goes to Jobber, the vendor's invoice (the bill's first attachment) goes with it.
- Matched only reads bills. Float still pays them, and coding (GL, tax) stays in Float.
- Bills count toward your plan's monthly charges.
If your token can't read bills, card charges still come in as usual.
Connect Ramp
- In setup, at Connect your cards, pick Ramp.
- Select Connect Ramp and sign in. Ramp asks for an Admin or the Business Owner.
- Approve read access.
Reconnect your card platform
Settings, then Connections, is where you reconnect, any time, even when it says Connected. Reconnecting only swaps the sign-in. Your building links, whose card is whose, matches and charges all stay.
Float:
- In Float, open Settings, then Developer, and create a new API token in your company's Float account (read access to card transactions, custom fields and receipts, plus bills to bring in Float bills).
- In Matched, open Settings. Under Connections, next to Float, open Reconnect Float.
- Paste the new token and select Reconnect Float.
Ramp:
- Open Settings. Under Connections, next to Ramp, select Reconnect Ramp.
- Sign in to your company's Ramp account and approve read access.
If Matched says the token or sign-in is for a different account, it can't see the field your crew codes on each charge, so it is probably another company's account. Nothing was changed. Make the token, or sign in, in your company's own account and try again.
Use Reconnect when Settings shows Needs reconnecting, or a last error such as “The card platform answered 401”: the token was removed or changed in your card platform.
Disconnect or change your card platform
- Open Settings.
- Under Connections, below your card platform, open Disconnect, tick the box, and select Disconnect.
- To use a different platform, connect it in setup. Setup asks again what your crew codes on each charge.
Charges and matches already in Matched stay, and so does anything already in Jobber.
